Your BEGES, its plan de transition and your CSRD statement, prepared from the same figures.

French law asks companies with more than 500 people for a regulatory GHG report every four years, with a plan de transition, and large companies for a sustainability statement. Carbon accounting prepares the BEGES on the method v5 with ADEME's factors, and CSRD reporting writes the statement in XHTML. You stay the one who files.

A BEGES on the regulatory method, from the figures you already keep

Every poste of the method, priced with ADEME's figures.

The year filed in the postes of the BEGES method v5, gas by gas, with biogenic CO₂ apart and French electricity priced on ADEME's average grid mix.

Every tonne traced to its factor.

Open any figure and see the sum behind it, the emission factor and its source, who entered it and every change since.

What changed since the last bilan.

Each year against the one before, split into activity and emission factors, so the plan's look-back starts from the figures.

What French law asks for, and where Greener Ahead does the work.

One set of figures, four documents. The example is Fonderies Marchal SAS, a foundry with 620 people, on its 2025 year.

Which obligations apply to your company?

The same rules the app applies to your company profile, run on the figures you type. No account, nothing stored.

Example figures: a foundry with 620 people. Change any of them.

Checking

How it works

  1. Check

See what French law asks of you.

Your company profile's facts decide each obligation, with its source. Where the figures cannot, one question settles it.

  2. Prepare

Turn the year into a BEGES.

The same inventory, filed in the method's postes. Your GHG Protocol figures do not change.

  3. Significance

Keep the indirect postes that count.

The method's 80% rule checked for you, and a written reason for any poste you leave out.

  4. Report

Hand over the report and the filing sheet.

Built from the approved year, so what you file is what you signed off.

The plan de transition and the sustainability statement

A report worth handing over.

Your figures laid out as a finished report, ready to adjust in the report editor, approve and download as Word or PDF.

A plan that reaches its target, measured every year.

What changed since last year and whether the plan still reaches the target, ready for the next bilan.

Your double materiality, ready for the statement.

Impacts, risks and opportunities scored against the threshold, so the statement covers what is material and says why.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to your questions right here, and contact us if you cannot find what you are looking for.

Who has to publish a BEGES?

Companies with more than 500 people in mainland France, and more than 250 in the overseas regions, every four years, with a plan de transition. People are counted the way the Code du travail counts them (L1111-2), so part-time and fixed-term staff count pro rata. The checker above runs the same rules as the app.

Does Greener Ahead follow the regulatory method?

Yes, for the figures. BEGES mode files your year in the postes of ADEME's method v5, shows each gas, keeps biogenic CO₂ apart, prices French electricity and fuels with ADEME's factors and checks that the indirect postes you keep reach the method's 80%. Your GHG Protocol inventory stays as it is; the BEGES is a second view of the same figures.

Do you file the BEGES for us?

No. You publish it on the ADEME platform, bilans-ges.ademe.fr. Greener Ahead gives you the report and a filing sheet that follows the platform's form field by field, in French, so filing is a matter of copying.

Is the plan de transition included?

Yes. Carbon accounting holds what the plan needs: a target for the next bilan and one for 2030 or later, each action with its people, budget and expected reductions, and the results of the previous plan. Climate strategy adds scenarios, the comparison with the SNBC and the progress of each action.

We will publish a sustainability statement. Do we still need a BEGES?

Under the law in force, a company is exempt from the separate BEGES when its sustainability statement publishes the greenhouse gas report and the transition plan, with the part for its activities in France (Code de l'environnement L229-25). The app shows which applies to you and from which year.

Is our company in scope of CSRD in France?

Under French law in force, a large company (two of three: more than 25 million euros of balance sheet, 50 million of turnover, 250 employees) reports first on financial year 2027, and a listed small or medium company on 2028. The EU simplification raises the thresholds but applies in France only once it is transposed, by 19 March 2027 at the latest. Until then the app follows the law in force and says so.
