A customer sent an ESG questionnaire. Answer it from one report.

Build one VSME report from your own documents and give every customer that asks its own link. From financial year 2027, a customer reporting under CSRD may not require more from a company with up to 1,000 employees than the limit the voluntary VSME standard sets.

One answer to every customer's ESG questionnaire

One report instead of a questionnaire per customer.

Your answers flow into a designed VSME report with every figure in place. Each customer that asks reads the same report, so you collect the figures once.

Morrow Bakery Group's 2026 sustainability report in the report editor: cover, contents, the year in figures and the first chapters

Your documents fill in the figures.

Drop in your payroll export, energy bills and policies. Sprout proposes each figure with the page it came from, and you accept or change it.

Collect the answers: seven documents read, and 238 employees suggested from the collective agreements, with the page it came from

A link for each customer.

See when each customer opened your report, and take access back at any time.

Everything a CSRD customer may require sits in these twenty disclosures.

From financial year 2027, a customer reporting under CSRD may only require the essential datapoints the voluntary standard lists for the cap, a shorter list for companies of 10 employees or fewer. All of them are in these disclosures. If a customer asks for more, it has to say which questions are extra and that you may decline them.

Basic module

The core of every report.

  • B2Practices, policies and future initiatives
  • B3Energy and greenhouse gas emissions
  • B4Pollution of air, water and soil
  • B5Biodiversity
  • B6Water
  • B7Resource use, circular economy and waste
  • B8Workforce: general characteristics
  • B9Workforce: health and safety
  • B10Workforce: pay, collective bargaining and training
  • B11Convictions and fines for corruption and bribery

Comprehensive module

  • C1Business model and sustainability initiatives
  • C2Practices, policies and future initiatives in more detail
  • C3Greenhouse gas reduction targets and climate transition
  • C4Climate risks

How it works

  1. Scope

    Say which customers asked.

Tell us why you report and who asked. Scope shows which Basic and Comprehensive disclosures apply to you.

  2. Fill

Let your documents fill in the figures.

Upload bills, payroll records and policies. Sprout proposes each figure with the page it came from, and nothing goes in until you accept it.

  3. Share

    Send it, then reuse it.

Share the finished report as a link or a PDF. The next customer that asks gets the same report, and next year's starts from this one.

Carbon accounting calculates your footprint under the GHG Protocol from your bills, fuel cards and purchase records, by scope and by source.

Overview: the 2026 footprint of 17,714.1 tCO2e by scope and by source, with every inventory step done

Ready for your customer's follow-up question.

Open any tonne and see the sum behind it, where the emission factor comes from, who entered it and every change since.

One activity's audit trail: 4,784.1 t of food and drink times 0.7914 kgCO2e/kg from ADEME and INRAE

A reduction target your customer can check.

Climate strategy sets a 1.5 °C target on your footprint, checked against the SBTi criteria, with a priced plan to reach it and questionnaire answers among its ready outputs.

Targets: the scope 1 and 2 SBTi near-term target and the group target for 2030, each with the plan against the cut needed

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to answer my customer's questionnaire?

Usually you will want to: it is your customer. What changes is how much they may require. From financial year 2027, a customer reporting under CSRD may only require, for that reporting, the essential datapoints the voluntary VSME standard lists for the cap from a company with up to 1,000 employees. The cap does not cancel what you agreed in a contract or what other law requires, and you can always share more if you want to. Check the questionnaire's purpose and reporting period.

Does the cap apply to my company?

It protects companies with up to 1,000 employees in the value chain of a company that reports under CSRD. Turnover and listing do not matter: a 900-person manufacturer is protected, and so is a nine-person studio. It covers information asked for that customer's sustainability reporting, not a quality audit or a contract.

My customer uses its own portal or a rating platform.

The figures are in your approved VSME report, so you copy them in from one place instead of searching for them per customer. Share the report link alongside, so the customer sees the full picture.

They ask for our carbon footprint, including Scope 3.

The VSME Basic module asks for Scope 1 and 2. For Scope 3, Carbon accounting calculates all fifteen categories under the GHG Protocol, from your purchase records or your suppliers' own figures, with the source behind every tonne.

They ask whether we have a reduction target.

Climate strategy sets a 1.5 °C target on your footprint, checked against the SBTi criteria, with the actions to reach it and what each costs and saves. Among its six ready outputs are answers for customer questionnaires.

What does it cost?

€995 a year for Voluntary Sustainability Reporting (VSME), excluding VAT, with unlimited users. Complete is €2,995 and adds Carbon accounting and Climate strategy. No setup fee and no implementation project.
